Job’s start in life was filled with some extreme ups and extreme downs. When he was just 10 days old, he was left behind after his mom relocated his litter but never came back to take him too. He was turned into the local animal shelter, where St. Gertrude Rescue was called and rushed down within hours to scoop him up. Job quickly responded to his human foster mom, as she loved on him, purred to him, sang him songs and lovingly and patiently hand-fed him. It was good, but being so young, he really just wanted his real mamma.

The prayers to St. Gertrude of Nivelle were definitely answered because 2 short days later, a mamma cat, rescued the same day as Job, had her litter of kittens. Job was introduced to mamma cat while she was birthing and she immediately took to him and allowed him to nurse. Mamma cat Bernadette became Jobs’ new mom and her 6 beautiful kittens became his new sibling family. Mamma Bernadette adores Job and we cannot be absolutely sure, but we think Job might be her favorite. He is such a resilient little guy, who could blame her.
